After the most wonderful spring, unfortunately summer has arrived. I say unfortunately, because in Texas, summer seems neverending- and it's just way too hot. Too hot to be outside, which is what summer is for, so I'm not a fan. Halle and I filled up her pool yesterday that she got as an early birthday present from her Mimaw and Pipaw. She loved jumping in and out. Then she'd run run around yelling, "Super Halle!" and then jump back in. Oh yeah, and I did the same thing- about 20 times, except I'd yell, "Super Mommy!"
And here's Lilers enjoying some floor time- she's getting so big!
Nap time has been a bit difficult the past few days. Why? Well if you watch, my little munchkin, who sleeps on her belly, keeps rolling herself on her back at naptime, and it takes many times of me going in there and flipping her over before she falls asleep. Goofy girl!
I feel like Halle's a pretty smart little girl. I'm proud that she can spell her name, recognize all of her letters, and most numbers. But lately I feel like everyone is talking about preschool and homeschooling and what they are teaching their kids. So my sweet neighbor printed off a bunch of worksheets that Halle can work on. Today we did the first one, practicing the letter A. She can write an H and L, but we're working on the A and E. Here's Halle doing some "work."
This past weekend, Brian's family made the trip over to celebrate Mother's Day and his 32 birthday! It was great to have them here, and one of the highlights was going to the Ft. Worth Zoo. I've wanted to go ever since we've moved here and we picked the most perfect day. It was the most beautiful day and both girls did a great job as we really spent the whole day looking at the animals and walking around. We have to get our outdoor activities in before summer in TX begins. Here are some pictures from our weekend...
People are constantly saying how much the girls look the same. I think yes and no. You can definitely tell they are sisters, but there are some differences. I think Lily is just a bit more petite, has a smaller head and different shape. Halle is pretty much all Brian, except for her hair and skin. It makes me happy, because people have said that Lily looks like me which makes me feel good, because I cannot say the same about my Hal gal. Brian and I were just talking about what it will be like when the girls get older. I'm so excited for the friendship they will have and I love seeing them loving on each other already!
