4 months!

Lily pie is 4 months today! Weighing in at 11 lbs 10 oz. and 25 inches long. She's doing just great, was a trooper with her shots, and is a joy!! She's super smiley and fun when she's awake. Now we're just working on her sleeping at night. My doctor said it was time that we could do "baby boot camp," and let her cry it out. I remember when we did that with Halle, which was so hard, but worth it, and she's been a great sleeper ever since. We shall see. We love our Lily!

28's not so bad

Here's my wonderful husband and I last Friday night at Benihana. He took me out for a fun dinner on my birthday minus the kiddos. It was great to not have to hold anyone or remind the to eat more bites of dinner. Plus we had an entire conversation without interruptions. If you know Halle, she pretty much never stops talking, so we thoroughly enjoyed some one-on-one time together. Someone asked me how old I was the yesterday and I had to stop and think. Yep, I'm 28, have 2 beautiful daughters, the best husband in the world, and a wonderful family. I have so much to be thankful for. Here's to another year, approaching 30- yikes!

Retreating

This weekend, I attended our annual women's retreat. It was a miracle I was able to go, as Lily had a fever 48 hours before we left I felt sick as a dog the night before. But God seriously answered many prayers and we felt ok to go. I had Lily in tow the whole weekend, which wasn't as much of a retreat for me, but she's my precious girl and it wasn't too bad. Our retreat was about 2 hours away on a beautiful lake in the woods. Oh my, did I love that! I felt like I was in MI- surrounded by beauty. There's just something about nature that makes me so connect with God and I love it. As I carried Lily around in her carrier, she continually had her head leaning back looking up at the tall, tall, trees. It was a super fun weekend where I got to spend time with my friends and with other women in my church. You can see our group picture above. The african lady in the middle is from a Zimbabwe church is south Texas who jumped in the picture, but the rest are Horizon's ladies. The youngest woman we had (besides Lily :)) was 19, and the oldest in her 70's. I so loved spending time with each one there. We had a great time worshiping and our speaker really challenged us in many areas- particularly spending more time with God, which is my constant challenge. Like today, I was determined, as soon as the girls were down to nap, to do my quiet time before anything else. So I quickly hopped on the couch with my Bible and journal and what did I hear? My sweet Lily waking up. So after my 5 minutes with God I got her up and have her next to me now. I know when it's time for her to nap again, Halle will be awake. But, we all need a chance to get away and RETREAT! Halle loved spending time with Brian and I'm so thankful for a husband who lets me get away and can spend time with our kiddos.

Beautiful Babes

Oh I love my girls!! I'm constantly reminded every day about how blessed I am to have my beautiful, healthy, wonderful daughters. They are the greatest joy in my life and I'm so blown away that I get to be their Mommy.

One of the best things about having 2 girls is dressing them the same!

And seeing them play together! Can you tell we're potty training? We're almost there! Keep up the good work Halle!

Spring break

Even though spring break doesn't apply to us, we still took one! Me and the girls got back from Chicago this weekend and jumped back into our normal life. It was so much fun to be at my parent's house for the week. Halle was excited to meet their new dog, Duffy, which took some adjusting, but by the end of the week, they were pals. Lily got to meet her Papa and Uncle Quinn for the first time, plus tons of family and friends. Everyone was so excited to meet her and see her smiles. The weather was beautiful while we were there, so we enjoyed a lot of outside time. Here are some pics of our time away.

We had a picnic at the Riverwalk

And we went to Redoak Nature Center

We hated to leave but we missed the man in our lives!

And we came home to have a wonderful Easter!
