Halle's Dictionary

Halle is just coming out with new words each day. I love it, it's so much fun to listen to! My favorite is when the ABC song is on, and I hear her saying, "A, D, A, D!" Love it! Here's a snippet of her language...

Daddy= Daddy
Mommy= Mommy
Teddi= Teddy
Baketbaaal= Basketball
Babe= Baby
Ni ni= Night Night
Yummy, yummy= She's hungry
Pancay= Pancake
Pine K= Pinecone
Ha yeee= Halle
N N= No no
Butt= Button
Goggie= Doggy
Guck= Ducky

What does a cow say? MMMMM
What does a duck say? Kack Kack

I love every minute!

Scenery

Here are a few pics of Highbridge, which is a park right by us that overlooks the Kentucky River. It's very high up- but a great view. When I see landscape like this it reminds me how small we really are. I see God so much in nature and his creation. I'm so thankful to be in a place which is so beautiful and shows me so much of God's love.

Halle is doing great- stitches are out and scar is healing well!

My dad moved my brother down this weekend and it was great to have Papa here. He got to watch Halle swim in her pool and play with her all day!

Poor baby

Here's Halle conked out after a morning of church and out to lunch. She was so cute when I looked back to see her book open and her eyes closed.

And then, unfortunately, here's out little girl with 2 stitches in her head. She had a little run in with a dresser drawer and it got her good! The cut was just too deep and we took her to the ER and waited 3 1/2 hours. She was such a good sport. She walked around in her jammies saying hello to all the people waiting. It was a pretty traumatic experience for all of us. Brian thinks I cried more than she did. It was such a hard moment to see her in so much pain. But we're thankful we were able to get it taken care of and that it wasn't worse. If you want to see the wound without bandage, click on Brian's blog on my links and he posted one.

She looks really sad here, bc she didn't want to eat breakfast, but she's really doing well!

Welcome to our home

Our front door

When you walk in, here's our family room

And the kitchen

That's basically most the downstairs, and the bedrooms are upstairs and non-exciting, so I'll spare you those. It seems like we've been here much longer than 8 days. It just feels so much like home. We're really liking it a lot. Brian is plugging away at orientation classes and homework already. It's going to be busy, busy. I can't wait to see what this year brings!

Happy 4th of July

We had a great 4th of July in our new home- a little rainy, but great! We skipped out on the parade because of rain, but went to the Wilmore Festival for lunch. We got 20 cent hot dogs, free watermelon and dessert- how can you beat that? Halle loved walking around, and of course tasting some of our ice cream! Then at night we had a dinner with Brian's entire doctorate class. It was a great chance to meet everyone and get a little more insight into this year. We were again reminded at how challenging it will be and really how much work Brian really has. So we're gearing up for him to read, read, and read some more!

Here's what Halle has been up to...

We're here!

We are officially in our new home! Our move could not have gone smoother! So many prayers were answered with people helping us load and unload, and Halle being an angel in the car, we felt so blessed! We are exhausted and have been trying to get setteld since last night. We love it so far, it's so pretty and the people we've met have been great. We have felt so welcomed already in this community.

This past weekend we were able to go up to Michigan for a few weddings and some time with friends. It was so great to be able to see so many people and my paretns were able to watch Halle while Brian and I went to weddings. We miss MI very much so it was nice to go once more before our move.

I can't get pictures to upload, but I'll post some soon!
