We want spring! We want....

I saw this headband at Target today, put it on Halle, and said- "Yep I think we need this!" So we came home, stripped her down and had a photo shoot. I don't like them as well as my black and whites, but I had to do these in color. She was such a good girl and didn't even notice the obnoxious ornaments on her head. Isn't she the perfect little flower. We're ready for spring!

Photography attempt

At MOPS this week, I was inspired with my photo taking abilities. We had someone come and speak about photography. It is a gift that many have, which I completely envy. But she gave us tips that everyone can do, and I'm going to try my best. I love black and white photos, and candids. All I need is a better camera! Mine takes very blurry pictures if anyone moves, so I hate it. But it's about 4 years old, so I think we're going to start shopping around soon. Here are a few of my favs!

Snow Day

No, I don't get snow days anymore now that I stay at home. But, today we woke up to a beautiful snow and I thought, how perfect for us to play in! Halle loved standing there wiping the snow off our front porch...

And here's big girl going to church with daddy this week- mommy stayed in bed because she was sick. Look how big she looks!!!

And Halle with her Mohawk in the bath...

I still can't believe it

My Valentine's Date was unforgetable!! As of 2 days ago I thought we were staying home to have a quiet night here. The day before V-day Brian told me he got a babysitter- thanks Cindy! So I said ok, and then thought we'd go for dinner around here- maybe the Mill or out for Chinese. Yesterday, Brian told me to dress up. So I thought-ok he just wants it to be more fun and get dressed up. So we drive and headed north- in no direction I thought we'd go. So I just sat there along for the ride. We pulled into a parking lot of a company where our friend Ryan works, so I thought- oh good, we're hanging out with Ryan and Amie. Brian turned off the car and about 2 seconds later I looked to my right and saw this...

Yes- we were going in the helicopter!! Ahhhhh! I almost peed! I was half totally excited, but half scared out of my mind! Our friend Ryan is a pilot so he and Brian had been planning this for months!! The ride was so beautiful. It was so smooth! We flew right over our house- crazy! I felt like I was on a roller coaster at first. I admit, on the way there I got a little nauseaus, but I made it. It was cool to see everything from the sky. We flew into Indy and had dinner at Buco de Bepo. Then we shopped a little at the mall. On the way back we circled downtown. It was beautiful seeing all the lights. And we flew right over the new Colts stadium- that was for you Keetha! I tried to get pics, but they didn't turn out! The ride back to Marion was 22 minutes, and wonderful. All in all, we had a great time with our great friends, and had a once-in-a-lifetime date!!!

Thanks Ryan and Amie!

Birthdays

This weekend we traveled to my hometown for my dad's surprise 60th birthday party and my grandma's 90th birthday. It seemed like a whilrwind as we had to rush back, but it was a great weekend and very special for us to be there for both occasions. My dad was very surprised for his party- which is always a plus and it was fun to see him enjoying various friends and family members. My grandma's 90th was great. Every single family member was there- minus one cousin in Seattle. It was important for us all to be there.

We each gave Grammy a flower- different kinds for different generations...

After she got them all, she waved like she was at a parade! It was too cute!

Some pics from dad's party...

Halle and some cousins...

This is what happens when Halle's pants are just too big...

And some more of our pumpkin...
