Vacation

We just returned from our week long vacation to Chicago. We spent 3 1/2 days up in Wisconsin. We stayed in the Wisconsin Dells at a great place called the Great Wolf Lodge. It is an amazing indoor waterpark and totally geared towards all ages of kids. Both girls loved the water and had a great time. Here we are in the lobby.

We spent many hours with water adventures!

And some great time with the family

We had a lot of fun, and we relaxed, and the bonus was to get to see my family. Thanks mom and dad for a wonderful vacation!

And here's brave Halle going down her favorite waterslide

Party time!

Here is Princess Halle all ready for her party

Here she is with some friends

It was 100 degrees on the day of her party- we had things planned inside and outside, and to my surprise they did pretty well outside- they decorated door hangers with their names on them and made necklaces...

And the best part, cake!!!

Halle is 3!

The day before Halle's 3rd birthday, she got her first haircut! This is not because her hair was too long, it was because her curls were out of control! So I gave her a little trim. She was a little scared at first but did great and when we were done, she said, "see getting your haircut doesn't hurt!"

And here's Halle opening her presents on her birthday and enjoying her birthday cupcake.

And some pictures from the rest of our weekend, which involved lots of water! We hit up the splash park, the pool, and the beach!

I can't believe my little girl is 3 already! She is an amazing joy in our lives. She is 29 lbs and 39 inches! She is a tall and skinny girl. We are having her birthday party this weekend. I'm excited to have her first real party with her friends. Happy Birthday Sweet Girl!

Summer is here!

After the most wonderful spring, unfortunately summer has arrived. I say unfortunately, because in Texas, summer seems neverending- and it's just way too hot. Too hot to be outside, which is what summer is for, so I'm not a fan. Halle and I filled up her pool yesterday that she got as an early birthday present from her Mimaw and Pipaw. She loved jumping in and out. Then she'd run run around yelling, "Super Halle!" and then jump back in. Oh yeah, and I did the same thing- about 20 times, except I'd yell, "Super Mommy!"

And here's Lilers enjoying some floor time- she's getting so big!

Nap time

Nap time has been a bit difficult the past few days. Why? Well if you watch, my little munchkin, who sleeps on her belly, keeps rolling herself on her back at naptime, and it takes many times of me going in there and flipping her over before she falls asleep. Goofy girl!

Learning

I feel like Halle's a pretty smart little girl. I'm proud that she can spell her name, recognize all of her letters, and most numbers. But lately I feel like everyone is talking about preschool and homeschooling and what they are teaching their kids. So my sweet neighbor printed off a bunch of worksheets that Halle can work on. Today we did the first one, practicing the letter A. She can write an H and L, but we're working on the A and E. Here's Halle doing some "work."

Mother's Day weekend

This past weekend, Brian's family made the trip over to celebrate Mother's Day and his 32 birthday! It was great to have them here, and one of the highlights was going to the Ft. Worth Zoo. I've wanted to go ever since we've moved here and we picked the most perfect day. It was the most beautiful day and both girls did a great job as we really spent the whole day looking at the animals and walking around. We have to get our outdoor activities in before summer in TX begins. Here are some pictures from our weekend...
